Jason Bell for Phase One shooting with the 100MP XF Camera System

Jason Bell on location for Vogue UK

“I wanted to shoot the Poldark cast on location, as an obvious reference to the show they are all starring in. But I didn’t want to have it look like the show, more a Vogue nod to the show.   Behind the Scenes for a VOGUE shoot “I knew there would be low light, and I love working with daylight as much as possible. It was a dull grey day and we were at times inside or in a forest, so there was not much available light. The higher ISOs you can you use with XF 100MP Camera System and still get crisp, noise-free images made it the obvious choice for me.” “When on location, I try to keep the setup as simple as possible so that we can concentrate on making images, not technical arrangements.” “Shooting directly to a laptop with Capture One on set is great, as it’s small and portable. It allows us to keep the subjects enthused in the process by occasionally (but not too often) showing them some of the …

Phase One's Vice President of R&D Lau Nørgaard

Phase One’s Lau Nørgaard goes to Mongolia

Our very own Lau Nørgaard, Vice President of R&D here at Phase One takes over our Instagram. Through images taken on the mountains and plains of Mongolia, Lau will share his passion for the technology and hard work that goes into creating our cameras, firmware, and lenses. On a hilltop in Mongolia “I was on a hilltop in Mongolia at sunrise trying to capture the delicate colors of the grassland in the early morning light. It was quite windy and shooting with the Blue Ring 240mm lens was a challenge. The smallest vibrations with the exposure times required in the low light would result in un-sharp images. And of course, with dawn or dusk pictures, time is of the essence for the perfect shot. However, using the new electronic shutter feature on the IQ3 100MP and vibration delay meant that I got critically sharp shots even on relatively long exposure times with the wind roaring around me.” “Dawn on a hilltop in Mongolia, testing out the new Blue Ring 150mm lens for real for the …

Aerial photographer, Tim Campbell, took us on a journey over Western Australia's gorgeous coastline

Seas from above with Tim Campbell

Aerial photographer, Tim Campbell, took over our Instagram account and took us on a journey over Western Australia’s gorgeous coastline. Get ready for an oceanic adventure with Tim’s aerial photography. Houtman Abrolhos Islands “This is a rather abstract, top-down view of the beautiful Houtman Abrolhos Islands. If you look back to my last post and follow the white water line off into the distance you’ll see where this image was taken, about halfway up that reef shelf.” “This image contains the vivid blue of an open water drop off and inviting turquoise sand patch separated by a crisp white water line and earthy brown limestone plate, I think it’s one of the most harmonious colour pallets I’ve ever seen in the ocean. Unless we grow wings I don’t think the attraction of an aerial perspective will leave us too soon, it’s just so great to reveal the patterns and tones carved into our earth over the ages. Have any of you shot with the IQ3 100MP from above?” The Houtman Abrolhos Islands “The island you …
